TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Winners 2014

Once again we are delighted to be 2014 winners! TripAdvisor told us that the Certificate of Excellence signifies that we have consistently earned outstanding feedback from TripAdvisor travellers. Many thanks to our guests who take the time and trouble to post reviews.

Kingfisher

Everyone is thrilled when they spot one of our resident kingfishers - but they are notoriously difficult to catch on camera! We were very grateful when one of our regular guests sent us this picture which he managed to take last week when fishing at the ponds - thank you Adrian!

They're Growing Up Fast!

Back in the summer of 2010, Colin and Harry went fishing and caught a baby carp weighing just a few ounces. Before releasing the fish, they took a photo so that they would be able to recognise him again in the future.

Fast forward to May 2014, and the same fish now weighs in at 6lb 2oz! Not long before he hits double figures!

Cornish Badger

Well, it took Colin a few attempts with a wildlife camera but he persevered and caught a few seconds of this beautiful badger in the woods at Forda. We think it was well worth the wait!

Golf Galore!

New for this season! Guests staying with us can now enjoy preferential green fees at Holsworthy Golf Club.
The 18 hole course is set in beautiful countryside - just over the border in Devon and less than 20 minutes from Forda.
In addition to golf, the new management team have organised many events over the coming months including music, quizzes and Italian food nights.

New Televisions

We've upgraded the televisions in all of the accommodation now to larger, HD LED models. They arrived earlier this month and our guests have been delighted - 32" screens in the 'A' frames and 42" screens in the cottages.

It's been confirmed! Bude has officially been the sunniest place in the UK this summer with a stunning 783 hours of sunshine! And you don't even have to take our word for it - the nice news people at the BBC have reported it here .
